SANTA ROSA, Calif. (AP) — Northern California prosecutors say they are still undecided on whether to charge a mom accused of attacking a 12-year-old boy alleged to have bullied her daughter.
A Sonoma County prosecutor told a state court judge Thursday that investigators need more time to look into the May 16 incident at a Santa Rosa elementary school.
It's the third time prosecutors have asked a judge for more time to decide if criminal charges are warranted. Delia Garcia-Bratcher was ordered to return to court Aug. 28.
The 30-year-old mother of six was arrested after sheriff's officials say she went to her daughter's school during lunch and grabbed the boy's throat. She says she confronted the boy, but denies touching him.
