FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Police in Fresno are searching for a 17-year-old burglary suspect who escaped from custody while handcuffed and wearing blue hospital clothes.
The Fresno Bee says (http://bit.ly/1rFdXD6) the teen was chased down and arrested Wednesday night after being spotted climbing out of the window of a home.
After the suspect was put in a police cruiser, he told officers he felt ill and began vomiting. The teen was treated at a hospital and released into police custody.
Lt. Joe Gomez says when an officer tried to put the boy in a patrol car, he broke away and ran. Gomez says the suspect went through an alley to a thoroughfare, where he was picked up by a green Lexus, which sped north.
The boy is sought on charges of burglary, resisting arrest and felony probation violation.
